Prevoty Cited as The Only Leader in The Runtime Application Self-Protection Market

Prevoty is cited as the leader of runtime application self-protection (RASP) technologies in The Forrester New Wave™: Runtime Application Self-Protection, Q1 2018, released today. Analysts from the influential research and advisory firm evaluated the eight most significant RASP vendors, interviewed customers, received demonstrations, and measured each solution against 10 assessment criteria. Their findings are reported in the Forrester New Wave Report, a widely respected, go-to source for enterprise security leaders, solution buyers, and investors in security technologies.

“Forrester’s research uncovered a market in which Prevoty leads the pack,” wrote Amy DeMartine, Principal Analyst at Forrester.

Forrester also identified Prevoty as differentiated in the criteria of attack detection, management UI, attack response, zero-day attacks, reporting and analysis, feedback loops, vision, and market approach.

“Prevoty leads the pack with robust attack detection, response, and visibility. Prevoty’s RASP tool can protect Java, .NET, Python, PHP, and Ruby applications using the vendor’s own language parsing, with responses including redirect, sanitize, terminate, transform, and signal. Prevoty includes out-of-the-box SIM integrations as well as flexible ad hoc reporting,” the report states.

Customers interviewed for the Forrester New Wave Report praised Prevoty’s “performance and responsiveness to requests.”

“The vendor relationship is unmatched,” reported one customer.

“Extremely low TCO; easy to maintain and configure while having a negligible impact on load and performance,” another Prevoty customer said.

Prevoty believes that The Forrester New Wave Report echoes praise from security industry leaders for its innovation, proven efficacy, and leadership in the applications security market.

“Enterprises have realized that the software they build, buy, and rely on to conduct business is inherently vulnerable to attackers,” said Kunal Anand, CTO and Co-Founder of Prevoty. “Our industry has failed to protect applications and data as we’ve relied on a two-prong approach: making developers responsible to build secure code and deploying network appliances at the edge.”

“It’s only getting worse. The reality is that applications are becoming more complex and dynamic. Public cloud transformations and the rapid deployment promised by DevOps are making it challenging for security teams,” Anand added.

Applications and services need embedded security controls that can mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent zero-day attacks, increase visibility, and improve risk management. That was the premise for the founding of Prevoty in 2013, and it’s the reason that the RASP market has experienced such tremendous growth.

Prevoty is the maker of Autonomous Application Protection, the first and only completely autonomous runtime application self-protection (RASP) technology that enables applications to self-defend from attacks in real-time. Applications are prime targets for cyberattacks and were the number-one attack vector in major breaches in 2017. Prevoty is the most advanced and mature of a growing number of RASP providers working to meet soaring demand for more effective application attack prevention solutions.

Prevoty’s technology is unique in the RASP market in that it leverages completely autonomous plugins that do not require network connections and perform with no external dependencies. This allows for fast, seamless deployments, while eliminating the risks associated with latency, network calls, data leakage or man-in-the-middle attacks.

“As an early adopter of RASP a few years ago, I partnered with Prevoty because they were clearly differentiated in the space,” said Fares Alraie, Head of Information Security at MedAmerica. “Prevoty’s technology is light years ahead of any other RASP provider I looked at. Their Autonomous Application Protection technology is the most effective and scalable RASP solution available, and they’re innovating new capabilities that are disrupting the application protection space.”

“In our view, Forrester’s findings confirm what our customers have been telling us. We’re providing an application security solution that helps them protect enterprise-scale, business-critical applications, improves visibility, and accelerates vulnerability management – all while saving them time and money. As a company we’re focused on partnering with our customers to ensure their success and helping them address the challenges associated with application security,” said Julien Bellanger, Co-founder and CEO of Prevoty.
