BlackBerry finally rolls out Android Marshmallow update for the Priv

BlackBerry is finally rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for PRIV users.

The update has so far been rolled out only to the STV100-1 and STV100-4 variants of the Priv. The STV100-1 is the Priv variant sold in the US and Canada, while the STV100-4 is the UK and French variant of the Priv. Carrier variants of the Priv will need to wait longer to receive the update as the STV100-2 and STV100-3 variants are scheduled to get the update on May 3. The update for the carrier variants will also include the May security update.

The Marshmallow update for the Priv brings customized personal data permissions, clearer notification settings, S/MIME support, new emojis, new keyboard gestures, enhanced word prediction, better cursor control, updated BlackBerry launcher, mute indicator, Doze, app standby, media card encryption support, and a few new camera features.
