Adobe Flash Player Update Now – Not to be Exposed to Hackers
Adobe Flash Player is probably one of the applications that not many people know that they are using every day. This application is allowing you to view multimedia, execute rich Internet applications and stream video and audio. However, it seems that big companies are already migrating to HTML5, as it is more secure. Reports suggest that the Adobe Flash Player will totally die within 1-2 years.
However, Adobe is trying to delay this as much possible, by releasing new Flash Player versions every now and then, which fix critical vulnerabilities. Adobe has released a new security update for its Flash Player, which addresses some vulnerabilities that hackers could use to gain control on your computer.
The vulnerability was affecting Flash Player that was running on Windows, Linux, Mac and Chrome OS. Trend Micro, one of the companies who have found the issue, said that this vulnerability was spreading the “Locky ransomware”. Ransomware is a type of malicious software that will hold the victim’s computer “hostage”. The hacker will be able to block access to the system until a sum of money is paid (via the internet).
Adobe is requesting users to update their Flash Player as soon as possible. To do this, they will firstly need to right click on a Flash content in their browser and click on “About Adobe Flash Player”. This will tell them what Adobe Flash Player version is running on their computer and which is the latest version available for their OS (and other OS).
Adobe has added that this vulnerability has been actively exploited by hackers on the devices that run on Windows 10 OS with Flash Player version 20.0.0.306. We suggest everyone to head to the official Adobe website and download/install the Adobe Flash Player 21.0.0.213 on their Windows OS devices, if they want to be protected against attacks.
